Of the celebrities, who have watched and loved Newton, Anil Kapoor is one of the recent ones to have tweeted about it: "Floored by all the impeccable performances in Newton," he posted on Tuesday.

Rajkummar Rao's film has also been selected as India's official entry for the Oscars. Sharing his experience of being part of Newton, he told NDTV.com: "I genuinely liked the script. It spoke about something relevant, and something that is a new world for me. And Newton as a character was somebody so idealistic, with so much honestly and sincerity that I could relate to his passion. All he wanted to do was change a few things in his own world."

On Friday, Newton clashed with Shraddha Kapoor's Haseena Parkar and Sanjay Dutt's Bhoomi.
