New Delhi: South superstar Mahesh Babu made an honest confession - the actor is "nervous" ahead of his Tamil debut SPYDER. The anticipation ahead of his film's release is making the 42-year-old actor have "sleepless nights" but there's much excitement as well. Mixed feelings, you know. "I've been having sleepless nights. I'm nervous, but at the same time excited. SPYDER is my debut in Tamil and I feel like a debutante despite being an actor for 18 years," the actor was quoted by news agency IANS as saying. The A R Murugadoss-directed movie is all set to take over theatres on Thursday.

SPYDER is Mahesh Babu's first project with the director and sharing his experience of working with Mr Murugadoss, he said: "We've been discussing about joining hands for a decade now. It's a dream combination, to work with Murugadoss sir, and it has happened at the right time. We've all given our best to this project."

Mahesh Babu also particularly mentioned that he's always wanted to work with Santosh Sivan, the cinematographer of the movie. "Through this film, I got to work with people I had always wanted to. For instance, it has been my long time wish to work with Santosh Sivan, and I'm glad it got fulfilled with this project," he said.

When asked if the idea of facing a new audience is adding to the nervousness, he said: "They've given me a grand welcome already. The love and warmth they showed me for the audio launch in Chennai is proof of it."

SPYDER casts Mahesh Babu as an intelligence officer with Rakul Preet Singh as his co-star. The movie also includes names like R J Balaji, Priyadarshi and Surya S.J in key roles.
