Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming bilingual film, Solo, has been cleared with an 'U/A' certificate in Tamil and an 'U' certificate in Malayalam by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), reports news agency IANS. Solo is directed by Bejoy Nambiar (Wazir and Shaitaan), who tweeted that the 'U' certification is a "lovely surprise." Solo is a collection of stories with a mythical touch. The director told IANS: "It's a collection of four different stories on earth, water, fire and wind. I can't divulge more about the plot." Solo is Bejoy Nambiar's debut in Malayalam cinema and it will hit the screens on October 5.

Bejoy Nambiar also told IANS that filming Solo was like making two films in the cost of one. "We have shot every scene twice. Once in Tamil and the second time in Malayalam. It was like shooting two films in the cost and time of making one film," he said.

Solo, which is jointly produced by Getaway Films and Abaam Films, also stars Arthi Venkatesh, Dhansikaa, Dino Morea, Neha Sharma and Sruthi Hariharan.

Dulquer Salmaan, son of actor Mammootty, debuted on the big screen in 2012 Malayalam film Second Show. He gained immense popularity after starring in films such as Vaayai Moodi Pesavum, Charlie and Kammatipaadam. He also starred in Mani Ratnam's OK Kanmani, which was remade in Hindi as OK Jaanu, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor.

Dulquer Salmaan is also set to make his Bollywood debut in Akarsh Khurana's Karwaan, co-starring Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar.
