Quickest Hybrid Vehicle: AMU Students Won Award @ 'National Event Of Efficycle 2017'
When they were designing a three-wheeled hybrid vehicle, little did the team of students from the Zakir Hussain College of Engineering (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) know that their efforts would culminate in a first-place finish for 'fuel efficient' and 'quickest hybrid vehicle' from among 69 entries from various engineering colleges and universities at the prestigious 'National Event of Efficycle 2017' held at the Lovely Professional University in Phagwara, Punjab.
These students, who are a part of Team Green Warriors (TGW), SAE Club, ZHCET, AMU have come back from the event with a cash prize of Rs 25,000 for designing the quickest hybrid vehicle, said a statement from the varsity.
The team members Vikram (Captain), Kunal (Vice Captain), Ashish Garg, Reshabh, Manish Chaudhary, Pratigya, Amisha Saxena, Shubhi, Abhishek, Saalim, Irfan, Asif, Sajal, Saksham, Kamran, Shambhavi, Rohit Saraswat, Israr and Deeshant have brought laurels to AMU under the guidance of SAE club seniors Wamiq Hasmi, Shubham Varshney, Arreb Mahmood, Anchal Varshney and Mehul Varshney.
The vehicle, which is designed by these 19 AMU students, tackles the problem of large fuel efficiency and runs on both human and electric power. This vehicle runs on power worth 20 Paise for one kilometre and is capable of covering approximately 100 kilometres with a single charge of battery.
"We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our students," said ZHCET faculty members.
The team members expressed their appreciation to the university administration and Faculty of Engineering for the support, added the statement.
