New Delhi:

With JEE Main exam at the edge, students across the nation are gearing up to write the paper from tomorrow onwards. The National Testing Agency, or NTA, will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) from tomorrow -- September 1.

To aid the students commuting from nook and corners of the country, the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) students and alumni promptly came forward and launched a dedicated portal to connect with Samaritans who may want to help the needy candidates.

Odisha has announced free transportation and accommodation for JEE and NEET candidates and decided to lift lockdown in cities with examination centres.

Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee recently opposed the idea of conducting exams amid a pandemic, however, ruling out the chances of JEE Main postponement, NTA stuck to the Supreme Court’s order and said, “Sufficient arrangements have been made to conduct the exams safely.” NTA has also said that over 99% of the candidates have been assigned their "first choice of centre cities" and assured the candidates of JEE Main and NEET.
