CBSE 12th class Results 2017: Delhi's Pass Percentage Up

New Delhi:  With the recently released class 12th board results by CBSE, Delhi students have once again proved their mettle. The result for students in Delhi has improved by one per cent this year. Also breaking the myth that private school students outperform students from government schools, government school students have fared better than private school third year in a row. The pass percentage of government school students in Delhi is 88.36, while for private school students it is 84.2. 

The national capital secured the third rank in region- wise result with Trivandrum and Chennai topping the tally.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia took to Twitter to congratulate the students on their performance.

CBSE Class 12 Results 2017: 5 Important Things

Though Manish Sisodia, the education minister for Delhi, mistakenly tweeted that it was second year in a row that Delhi Government schools had outnumbered private schools in CBSE 12th result, twitter was quick to point out the same. 

It is not second but third year in a row that Government schools have performed better than the private schools in the national capital. Also instead of the 9% difference between the overall pass percentage of government and private schools as tweeted by Sisodia and consequently reported by many media outlets, the difference between pass percentgae is only 4%. 

Shagun Goel of DPS RK Puram emerged as the Delhi topper with 98.8 per cent marks.
