New Delhi: Ashoka University has notified the Young India Fellowship for the class of 2018-19. The Fellowship is offered by the University in collaboration with University of Pennsylvania's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), Carleton College, University of California Berkeley, University of Michigan, King's College London, Trinity College Dublin, Sciences Po Paris, Yale University and Wellesley College. While there is no application fee for the programme, the fellowship offers full and partial scholarship to selected applicants. Anyone with an undergraduate or a postgraduate degree can apply for the fellowship. The upper age limit for the applicants is 28 years as on May 31, 2018. 

The medium of instruction is English for the programme and though students who have completed their education in vernacular languages can apply, they should be able to read, write and converse in English, a university release said. 

The admission process is split in two rounds. The application process for the first round begins on August 25, 2017 and ends on December 17, 2017. The applications for the second round begin on December 18, 2017 and end on March 4, 2018. The application forms would be available on the University's official website starting August 25. 

The selection process for the Young India Fellowship includes  an application assessment, interview on the telephone, a comprehension test and a personal interview. The application assessment will involve assessment of an applicant's academic performance through school and college and their involvement in extra-curricular activities. 

Candidates, who are screened through application assessment, will be interviewed over the telephone about the information furnished on their application. The last stage would include a comprehension test followed by a personal interview. Final selection will be based on the cumulative score of all the three rounds. The final offers to selected candidates for the first round will be between February 1- March 25, 2018 and for second round will be between March 26 - June 15, 2018.
