There are big worries for the BJP after two hours of counting in by-elections to 32 assembly seats in eight states. In three major states - Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan - it is losing seats it vacated to rival parties. It had held 24 of these seats, but is leading in only nine.
