'Operation Rahat' update:

  • Cheetah and Mi-17 V-5 helicopters of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will be pressed into service today in Badrinath valley again. Weather outlook is marginal.
  • On Sunday, a Cheetah from the Hindon Air Force Station pulled out 80 survivors from a location in Badrinath valley. The survivors were dropped to a safe place nearby. But the chopper was carrying just two passengers at a time, leading to more than 50 landings in one sortie.
