Voting underway in first phase of Gujarat assembly election 2017

The Gujarat assembly election 2017 is being held in two phases in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state. The second phase will be fought on 93 seats in north and central Gujarat. The votes will be counted on December 18. PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi, who will soon take charge of the party, have led aggressive campaigns in Gujarat. A poll of opinion polls, which took data from three separate surveys, shows the BJP winning Gujarat again, but by a smaller margin than last time. The BJP has been in power in Gujarat for the last 22 years.
