The elevation of Rahul Gandhi as Congress chief is being seen as a historic move by partymen, who believe that Mr Gandhi will bring new energy to the party which has come under severe criticism and pressure losing one election after another since 2014. Many in the party believe that Rahul Gandhi will bring a much-needed change in the functioning of the Congress party.
