Xerox Names Ashok Vemuri As CEO Of Its BPO Business

Xerox Corp said on Tuesday Ashok Vemuri will become the chief executive of its business process outsourcing unit after the company splits into two publicly traded entities.

Ashok Vemuri was a member of Infosys board from 2011 to 2013. From 2012 to 2013, he served as senior vice president and head of Americas and global head of manufacturing and engineering services at Infosys.

Mr Vemuri, who also headed IT services provider iGate Corp from September 2013 to October 2015, will join Xerox effective July 1.

While at iGate, Mr Vemuri led the company's sale to French rival Cap Gemini SA for $4 billion.

"I'm excited to join Xerox at this stage of its new path forward. The standalone BPO company will have many new opportunities, leveraging its differentiated capabilities and executing a more focused value-creation strategy for the benefit of clients, employees and shareholders," Mr Vemuri said.

In January, Xerox announced plans to split its legacy printer operations and its business process outsourcing units into two companies.

Xerox has not said who will head its printer business but current Chief Executive Ursula Burns will become chairman of that company once the transaction closes, expected by the end of 2016.
