Why AirAsia India CEO Called iPhone 6 'iTransform'

AirAsia India CEO Mittu Chandilya on Tuesday joined the iPhone 6 Plus 'comedy club' after he good-humouredly took a jibe at Apple's latest offering. The iPhone 6 has attracted a barrage of jokes on social media, over reports of the iPhone 6 Plus bending when placed in back pockets or while wearing skinny jeans.

"Making the switch to (iPhone) 6 Plus today. Apparently it bends too - iTransform?," Mr Chandilya quipped on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Big corporate houses like Nestle, Heineken, Samsung, LG are just some of the names who have also taken digs at the iPhone 6 Plus. Beer brand Heineken had tweeted a picture of a bent beer bottle cap, saying, "No worries...it happens to us all the time." (Read: Corporates Take Jibes at iPhone 6)

After reports of the iPhone 6 bending came to light, Apple had come out with a clarification saying, "With normal use, a bend in iPhone is extremely rare and through our first six days of sale, a total of nine customers have contacted Apple with a bent iPhone 6 Plus."

This is not the first time, however, that there have been reports of the iPhone bending. Cases of the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5s bending had been reported in 2013 by Cult of Mac- a website that exclusively covers Apple.

The new range of iPhones had been a topic of humour even before its launch. International celebrities had poked fun at the iPhone 6 in the run up to its launch in the US on September 9. "The new iPhone is expected to have a bigger screen and a better operating system. The new iPhone will be called last year's Samsung Galaxy," American television host Conan O'Brien had joked on his show. (Read: iPhone 6 Attracts Celebrity Humour)
