TVS Motor Sales Up 2% in July

Chennai: TVS Motor on Saturday posted a nearly 2 per cent rise in sales at 2,18,321 units last month.

The city-based two and three-wheeler manufacturer had sold 2,14,324 units in July 2014, it said in a statement.

Total two-wheeler sales in July 2015 were at 2,08,044 units as against 2,05,360 units in the corresponding period a year ago.

Sales of two-wheelers in domestic market recorded a marginal increase to 1,75,803 units, from 1,74,099 units in the year-ago period.

Scooter sales in July 2015 grew 10 per cent to 69,626 units from 63,250 units in July 2014. Motorcycle sales, however, declined 4 per cent in July 2015 to 77,397 units from 80,658 units a year ago.

Three wheeler sales witnessed a 15 per cent increase in July at 10,277 units, as against 8,964 units sold in the corresponding period a year ago.

On the exports front, the company recorded a 15.3 per cent increase in July at 42,677 units, as agsinst 36,986 units shipped during same month last year.

Two-wheeler exports grew 14.8 per cent to 33,945 units in July 2015 from 29,557 units in July 2014.
