Transport Corporation Posts 17% Rise in Q1 Profit

New Delhi: Transport Corporation of India (TCI) on Saturday reported a 17.38 per cent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 18.77 crore for the quarter ended June.

TCI, which is an integrated supply chain solutions provider, had registered a net profit of Rs 15.99 crore for the corresponding period a year ago.

Total income from operations during April-June 2015 increased to Rs 548.30 crore from Rs 520.18 crore in the year-ago period.

Total expenses surged to Rs 519.68 crore, as against Rs 491.35 crore a year ago.

The company recorded other income of Rs 4.01 crore during the quarter as against Rs 0.38 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

Shares in the company ended at Rs 266.50 apiece on the BSE on Friday, down 0.41 per cent from the previous close.
