"This hiring initiative, which is in response to a new contract for a major US company, demonstrates Tech Mahindra's commitment to hiring American workers," the company said in a statement.
The initiative also makes Atlanta one of the largest offices for the Mumbai-based company in North America, it added.
The latest addition increases the total headcount of Tech Mahindra's Alpharetta office to more than 600 employees. Overall, Tech Mahindra employs more than 2,000 US citizens and is actively recruiting from leading universities across the North American region.
Indian IT companies have been aggressively increasing their local presence in the US, a market that accounts for about 60 per cent of the industry's export revenues.
Indian tech firms also facing greater visa-related scrutiny in the US and other key markets like the UK,
Australia, New Zealand and Singapore and is ramping up local hiring to counter such actions.
