Tata Global Beverages Posts 15% Drop in Q1 Profit
New Delhi: Tata Global Beverages Ltd (TGBL) on Thursday reported a 15.34 per cent decline in consolidated profit at Rs 82.31 crore for the fiscal first quarter that ended on June 30, 2015.

The company had reported a profit of Rs 97.23 crore for the corresponding period a year ago.

The company's net sales, during the quarter under review, rose 6.37 per cent to Rs 2,003.99 crore, from Rs 1,883.95 crore a year ago, TGBL said in a filing to the BSE.

Overall expenses stood at Rs 1,875.78 crore, up 7.53 per cent as against overall expenses of Rs 1,744.36 crore in the year-ago period.

TGBL's revenue from tea in the quarter increased 5.08 per cent to Rs 1,524.87 crore while revenue from coffee went up 9.57 per cent to Rs 468.76 crore.

The company's revenue from the 'others' segment rose 11.29 per cent to Rs 35.36 crore.

Shares in Tata Global Beverages, on Thursday, ended over 1 per cent higher at Rs 143.80 apiece on the BSE.
