FAG Bearings India incorporated in 1962 as Precision Bearings. It is a member company of FAG group of Germany – is a leading player in the Indian Bearing industry. The company manufactures a very wide range of bearings conforming to the stringent international quality standards.

FAG India's manufacturing plants, located at Vadodara, Gujarat, feature the most advanced manufacturing technology. The company is certified to ISO/TS 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.

FAG India is a leading OEM supplier to the automotive industry, mechanical and electrical engineering industry, besides the Railways.

In 1997, FAG Bearing India set up the country's first 100% EOU for bearings. Bearings produced at the EOU plant have gained ready acceptance and recognition of customers located in Europe, USA, Asia and Africa.

FAG's joint venture company – FAG Roller Bearings– produces taper roller bearings at Chakan near Pune. Company has clients namely Ashok Leyland, Autolec, ABB, HMT, Crompton, Polar, Greaves Cotton, SAIL, BHEL, NTPC, Punjab Tractors, Siemens, Hero Honda, General Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai India, Eicher Tractors, Lucas TV  and many more.

Milestones

  • 1962– The company was incorporated as Precision Bearings India.
  • 1986– The name of the company was changed to FAG Precision Bearings.
  • 1993– It became the first Indian Bearing Company to achieve ISO 9001 certification.
  • 1997– The company commenced EOU Project for Cylindrical roller bearings.
  • 1998– It became first Indian Bearing Company to achieve QS 9000 certification.
  • 1999–The name of the company was again changed to FAG Bearings India. The company achieved ISO 14001 certification.
  • 2000– It set up India's first production facilities to produce hub bearings.
  • 2001– Company formed a Joint Venture company FAG Roller Bearings– a private limited company to manufacture taper roller bearings.
  • 2011 –FAG India receives Best Supplier Award from Rane NSK Steering Systems Ltd.
