Max India (MIL), incorporated in 1988, is a multi–business enterprise.  The company has business interest in area of life insurance, healthcare and clinical research.

The company has subsidiaries namely Max New York Life –– a joint venture between Max India and New York Life; Max Healthcare –– engaged in providing healthcare services; Max Bupa Health Insurance –– a joint venture between Max India and Bupa Finance Plc, UK engaged in clinical research business and Max Neeman –– a manufacturer of speciality products for the packaging industry.

Max India operates through 555 offices across more than 364 locations in the India. The company has employee strength 92,000 people. The company’s various divisions have received ISO 9001:2000 and IS014001: 2004 certifications for its quality management.

Earlier the company had business interest in area of electronic component distribution, plating chemicals, and penicillin–based bulk drugs as well as generic bulk drugs. But later the company divested its business interesta in these businesses.

Business Areas

Max New York Life (MNYL)– This is a joint venture between Max India and New York Life incorporated in 2000.  The company offers a range of products in individual and group life insurance solutions.Today it is amongst one the leading private sector life insurance companies.

Max Healthcare (MHC)– This division is operates 8 hospital located at Delhi and NCR. These hospitals offer services in area of orthopaedics and joint replacement, neurosciences, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and internal medicine.

Max Bupa Health Insurance (MBHI)– It is a joint venture between Max India and UK–based Bupa Group.

Max Neeman Medical International (MNMI) – This division is engaged in clinical research services that offers services in entire value chain of new drug development in area of pharmaceutical, biotech and clinical research. The company has employee base of 200 people. It operates through five regional offices in India and one business development office in USA.

Max Speciality Products (MSP)– The company is engaged in manufacturing of wide range of sophisticated barrier and packaging films. Annually the company’s BOPP film has an installed capacity of manufacturing 29,000 tonnes. The company's leather finishing foil unit manufactures a spectrum of leather finishing and laminating foils.

In 2010 Max Bupa, the Health Insurance JV with the Bupa Group starts operations
In 2013 Max India enters Senior Living with Antara Senior Living.
