  1. At 10:15 am, the 30-share benchmark index traded 102.98 points or 0.28 per cent lower at 36,271.10, and the Nifty was at 10,869.20, down 36.00 points or 0.33 per cent from the previous close.
  2. Sun Pharma was the biggest loser on both the indices, cracking more than 10 per cent.

  4. Other losers on the 50-scrip index were Bharti Airtel, GAIL, Yes Bank and UltraTech Cement, trading between 0.96 and 2.38 per cent lower.

Shares of Jet Airways fell as much as 3.2 per cent on Friday, on track for their ninth session of losses this month, a day after State Bank of India (SBI) said lenders of the airline were considering a plan to resolve its debt issues. On the same day, Jet Airways chairman Naresh Goyal told SBI he is ready to invest up to Rs. 700 crore in the airline on the condition that his stake does not fall below 25 per cent. 
  6. According to analysts, concerns on the US-China trade war and growth slowdown hurt investor sentiment.
  7. Investors awaited Wipro to report its earnings for the October-December period later in the day. 
  8. Asian stocks, on the other hand, gained early on Friday, as hopes for a thaw in the US-China trade conflict fed investor appetites for risk assets. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan added 0.25 per cent. The index has gained nearly 1 per cent this week.
  9. The rupee, meanwhile, depreciated by 18 paise against the dollar to 71.21 on Friday.    
  10. On a net basis, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) purchased shares worth Rs 842.13 crore on Thursday, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were net sellers to the tune of Rs 727.46 crore, provisional data available with BSE showed.
