Sensex to open higher on strong Asian markets

Also, SGX CNX Nifty Index was trading around 48 points higher early morning, indicating a positive start for the Indian markets.

Indian markets are all set to open higher on Tuesday  on strong Asian markets. The Sensex ended marginally higher on Monday seeing flat trade throughout the day.

Also, SGX CNX  Nifty Index was trading around 48 points higher early morning, indicating a positive start for the Indian markets.


Nilesh Jasani, Head of Asia-Pacific Equity Research at Jefferies said that slowdown has finally and rightly emerged as the key market concern. Without a policy induced turnaround, the Sensex in 2012 could move substantially below the target of 14,000.

Asian stock markets rose Tuesday, as market confidence grew after the release of manufacturing data that showed improvement in Europe.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng index jumped 1.9 percent to 18,771.12. South Korea's Kospi index rose 2.1 percent to 1,863.88 and Australia's S&P ASX 200 gained 1.2 percent at 4,104.

US markets were closed Monday for a year-end extended holiday.
