With Kick, Salman Khan Works His Magic on Box Office Again

Salman Khan-starrer Kick did Rs 25 lakh business at the domestic box office on Wednesday, according to estimates of Bollywood website Koimoi.com. It takes Kick's total domestic collection to Rs 231.70, says the website.

Kick is Salman Khan's first entrant into the Rs 200 crore club. This also makes Salman Khan the first Bollywood actor to have seven Rs 100 crore movies to his credit, according to trade analyst Adarsh: Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Bodyguard, Dabangg, Ready, and Jai Ho.

Also, starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Kick was released across 5,000 screens in India and as well as 42 other countries.

Kick also marks the directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala. Kick is a remake of the hit 2009 Telegu film of the same name and the screenplay for the Hindi version was adapted by Chetan Bhagat and Sajid Nadiadwala, who's also the director-producer of the movie. The film has been released under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.

Kick, released ahead of Eid, hit the Rs.100 crore mark on the fifth day after its release. In terms of gross earnings, says Koimoi.com, Kick has collected over Rs 376 crore worldwide. Kick is now Bollywood's fourth-highest worldwide grosser at box-office, says Koimoi.com, behind 3 Idiots (Rs 395 crore), Chennai Express (Rs 422 crore) and Dhoom 3 (Rs 542 crore). (With Agency Inputs)
