RMSI, which specializes in sectors ranging from utilities, wireless telecommunications, and information management, agriculture & natural resources, and risk and insurance, trumped Google India, Intel Technologies and Marriott Hotels India, companies that ranked first, second and third in the best place to work rankings published by Great Place to Work Institute last year.
RMSI, which has subsidiaries in the US, Canada and UK, employs nearly 850 people, while Google employs nearly double that number in India alone.
Other Indian companies to figure in the "top-10 list of best companies" to work for are FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products (rank six) and engineering firm Forbes Marshall (rank nine), Great Place to Work Institute said. GCPL specializes in home and personal care products and employs 2,228 employees.
All other companies that feature in the top-10 list - Marriott Hotels India, American Express India, SAP Labs India, Intuit Technology Services, Accor Hotels India, and Lifestyle International - are subsidiaries of global MNCs.
Sap Labs India, Intuit Technology Services, Pitney Bowes Software and Microsoft India are IT companies that found a place in the list of top-20 best companies to work for, according to the study.
State-run NTPC pipped Indian Oil Corporation to emerge as the best public sector company to work for, according the study. NTPC is India's largest power company.
