How Jio Prepaid Subscribers Can Shift To Company's New Prepaid Service

Reliance Jio Infocomm recently rolled out postpaid tariff plans, four years after starting commercial operations. The launch of Jio's postpaid plans comes amid intense competition in the country's highly-indebted telecom sector, triggered by the company's aggressive pricing of its high-speed data plans and the offering of free voice calls to its subscribers. The postpaid plans provided by Reliance Industries' telecom arm, Reliance Jio Infocomm, are bundled with video-streaming services - such as Hotstar - at no additional cost to the subscriber. Reliance Jio's postpaid plans start at a monthly tariff of Rs 399, and go to as high as Rs 1,499.

Here's how an existing prepaid subscriber of Reliance Jio can switch to the company's new, postpaid service:

Reliance Jio has listed the following steps for prepaid users to switch to postpaid:

The subscriber needs to obtain a Postpaid Plus SIM from Reliance Jio Infocomm. (Also Read: Jio Launches Postpaid Plans Starting From Rs 399 Per Month)

This can be done either by making a purchase online - through Reliance Jio Infocomm's website (jio.com) - or by vising a Reliance Digital/Jio retail store.

Upon receiving the new SIM, the user is required to unlock the credit limit against a 100 per cent refundable deposit (if applicable).

After this step, the subscriber is required to link the desired contacts to the Postpaid Plus family plan using mobile app Myjio.

Ever since its foray into the market, Reliance Jio has expanded its user base aggressively by providing free voice calls, high speed data at low price and other benefits.
