RBI committee invites suggestions on financial inclusion

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Friday that its committee on comprehensive financial services for small businesses and low-income households has invited suggestions from stakeholders on development of financial services delivery model.

"The committee has decided to invite suggestions from various stakeholders with a view to enabling them to share their thoughts on the subject," the apex bank said in a release.

The committee which is being headed by Nachiket Mor, member of the RBI's central board of directors, has members from the financial sector, from organisations that are engaged in developing new models of financial services delivery, in rural as well as urban contexts and have subject matter expertise.

A Udgata, principal chief general manager of the rural planning and credit department at the apex bank, is the member secretary of the committee.

Stakeholders will submit their suggestions to the committee through e-mail by October 31, 2013. The committee will submit its final report by December 31, 2013.
