Domestic petrol and diesel prices were revised after three days of no change in rates. The prices of petrol and diesel, reviewed on a daily basis in tandem with global crude oil and rupee-dollar forex rates, were hiked in the range of 7-9 paise per litre in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai on Thursday, according to notifications from Indian Oil Corporation. Currently, any revisions in the domestic fuel prices are effected at the pumps by state-run oil marketing companies at 6 am. (Also read: How to check today's petrol and diesel rates in your city)
Petrol and diesel prices in Delhi and Mumbai
With effect from 6 am on Thursday, the price of petrol in Delhi was at Rs 73.02 per litre while that of diesel was at Rs 66.54 per litre. In Mumbai, the prices of petrol and diesel were at Rs 78.59 per litre and Rs 69.65 per litre respectively, according to Indian Oil Corporation.

The prices of petrol and diesel in Delhi had stood at Rs 72.95 per litre and Rs 66.46 per litre on Wednesday respectively. In Mumbai, the rates were at Rs 78.52 per litre and Rs 69.56 per litre on that day.
