Petrol, Diesel Price Today: Petrol and diesel prices are steady across the four metros on Monday, September 6, 2021. In the national capital, petrol prices were unchanged at Rs 101.19 per litre and diesel rates were constant at Rs 88.62 per litre, according to Indian Oil Corporation. Among the four metro cities, petrol and diesel prices are still the highest in Mumbai, according to the state-run oil refiner. Fuel rates vary across the states due to value-added tax.
State-run oil refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel rates on a daily basis, considering the crude oil prices in international markets and the rupee-dollar exchange rates. Any changes in petrol, diesel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.
Meanwhile, oil prices extended losses on Monday after the world's top exporter Saudi Arabia slashed crude prices for Asia over the weekend, signalling that global markets are well supplied.
Brent crude futures for November fell 57 cent or 0.8 per cent to $72.04 a barrel, while U.S West Texas Intermediate crude for October was at $68.73 a barrel, down 56 cents or 0.8 per cent.
