Petrol, Diesel Price Today: Petrol and diesel prices are unchanged across the metros on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, according to information provided by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). In New Delhi, the petrol prices are steady at Rs 97.50 per litre and diesel prices are constant at Rs 88.23 per litre. In Mumbai, the petrol is priced at Rs 103.63 per litre and diesel costs Rs 95.72 per litre. Fuel rates vary across the states in India due to value-added tax. The state-run oil marketing companies - IOC, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum align the rates of domestic fuel with that of the global crude oil prices by taking into account any changes in foreign exchange rates. Any changes in fuel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.
Meanwhile, oil prices rose on Wednesday after industry data showed U.S crude inventories fell more than expected, reinforcing views of a tightening supply-demand balance with road and air travel picking up in Europe and North America.
U.S West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures jumped 33 cents, or 0.5 per cent, to $73.18 a barrel and brent crude futures jumped 42 cents, or 0.6 per cent, to $75.23 a barrel.
