Ortel Communications Posts Net Profit of Rs 5.6 Crore in Q4

Mumbai: Ortel Communications (Ortel), a regional cable television and high speed broadband services provider today posted a net profit of Rs 5.64 crore for the quarter ended March 31. It had posted a net loss of Rs 12.25 lakh in the January-March period of last fiscal, 2013-14. The company went public only in the reporting quarter and therefore the numbers are not comparable. Ortel's income from operations was Rs 44.91 crore in the Q4 FY'15 as compared to Rs 33.41 crore in the year-ago period. The said in a statement that its EBITDA (operating profit) grew by 64 per cent to Rs 20.8 crore, from Rs 12.7 crore. EBITDA margin stood at 45.9 per cent, up 970 bps in the fourth quarter of 2014-15. The company's total income increased by 21 per cent to Rs 161.1 crore in FY'15 from Rs 132.6 crore. Profit after tax stood at Rs 5.59 crore as compared to a loss of Rs 13.8 crore in FY 14. Ortel Communications President & CEO at Bibhu Prasad Rath said: "The company has delivered a healthy performance during the quarter and full year on the back of growth in Revenue Generating Units (RGUs) in cable and broadband businesses and robust contribution from infrastructure leasing segment. Our EBITDA margins stood strong at 37 per cent in FY15 as compared to 31 per cent in FY14." The company had successfully concluded the Initial Public Offering (IPO) by raising Rs 108.6 crore during the quarter. The capital infusion will enable Ortel to accelerate growth and deliver much stronger financial and operational performance in the coming years, Rath said.
