Natco Pharma Q2 net up 28 per cent at Rs 27 crore

Natco Pharma on Thursday posted a 28.25 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 26.92 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2013.

The drug firm had posted a net profit of Rs 20.99 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago, it said in a filing to the BSE.

Net sales of the company, however, declined to Rs 162.91 crore during the second quarter of FY14, from Rs 169.16 crore last year, the filing noted.

"The growth has been driven by value added formulation exports during the quarter," it said.

Shares in Natco Pharma, on Thursday, ended at Rs 792.45 apiece on the BSE, up 4.02 per cent from the previous close.
