Nalco Q4 Profit Down 41% At Rs 208 Crore

New Delhi: State-run National Aluminium Co Ltd (Nalco) on Sunday reported a 41.4 per cent decline in standalone net profit at Rs 207.94 crore for the fiscal fourth quarter that ended on March 31, 2016.

Bhubaneswar-based Nalco had posted a net profit of Rs 354.87 crore for the corresponding period a year ago.

Nalco said in a filing to the BSE that its total income was up 4 per cent at Rs 1,874.36 crore in the January-March quarter of last fiscal year, as against Rs 1,801.25 crore in the corresponding period of 2014-15.

The Navaratna PSU's standalone net profit dipped 44.6 per cent to Rs 731.01 crore for the entire fiscal year 2015-16 as compared with Rs 1,321.85 crore in the previous fiscal year.

Total income for the full financial year also slipped 7.6 per cent to Rs 6,816 crore, as against Rs 7,382.81 crore in 2014-15.

The company said its board has recommended payment of a final dividend of Rs 75 paise per share (15 per cent on face value of Rs 5 each) on the equity share capital.

This is in addition to the interim dividend of Rs 1.25 per share (25 per cent on face value of Rs 5 each) already paid during March 2016.
