Mindtree Bags Multi-million Contract From BBC

IT firm Mindtree today said it has bagged a multi-year 25 million pounds (over Rs 250 crore) deal from BBC to test a range of its digital products.

People in know of the development said the contract is worth about GBP 25 million, however Mindtree declined to reveal the contract value.

"The multi-year, multi-million contract was awarded as part of BBC's digital services framework initiative," Mindtree said in a statement.

As part of the non-exclusive engagement, Mindtree will deliver and support testing of digital products and applications, it added.

The digital products include applications and websites that run on a wide variety of digital and broadcast platforms like desktop computers, mobile devices, cloud, integrated digital TV, IPTV, cable, satellite TV and the web.

Mindtree's testing services will include functional, non- functional, test management, exploratory, automation and load testing.

"We are excited to be part of the BBC digital services framework. Millions of citizens globally benefit from BBC and we hope to enrich their experience with our superior digital testing capabilities," Mindtree's senior vice president Ramesh Menon said.

BBC Future Media Head Market Engagement Richard Smith said the independent digital media sector plays an essential role in helping the BBC deliver better value for money for the licence fee and supporting continual improvements in quality of its online services.

"These new agreements and procedures allow us to engage with the open market more efficiently and effectively," he added.
