Mahindra Tractor Sales Up 42% in November

New Delhi: Home-grown auto major Mahindra & Mahindra on Tuesday reported a 42 per cent increase in tractor sales at 21,717 units last month.

The company had sold 15,333 units in November 2014.

Domestic tractor sales last month increased 47 per cent to 20,819 units as compared to 14,207 units in the year-ago month, the company said in a statement.

Exports during the month were at 898 units as against 1,126 units in the same month last year, a decline of 20 per cent, it added.

The rise in sales is due to improved sentiments owing to festive season, M&M president and chief executive-farm equipment and two wheeler division Rajesh Jejurikar said.

"We hope for the rural economy to steadily revive going forward," he added.

Shares in M&M, on Tuesday, ended 0.18 per cent higher at Rs 1,369.70 apiece on the BSE, whose benchmark Sensex index finished up 0.09 per cent.
