Kick Adds to Salman Khan's Box-Office Appeal

Salman Khan-starrer Kick, into its fifth week, added Rs 20 lakh to its kitty on Saturday, according to a report by Bollywood website Koimoi.com.

This takes Kick's total domestic box office collection, to Rs 232.2 crore, the report adds.

Kick is Salman Khan's first entrant into the Rs 200 crore club and his seventh overall in the Rs 100 crore club, a first for a Bollywood actor, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter. Salman Khan's other Rs 100 crore grossers were Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Bodyguard, Dabangg, Ready, and Jai Ho, added Mr Adarsh.

Kick, released ahead of Eid, hit the Rs.100 crore mark on the fifth day after its release. Salman Khan's earlier Eid releases like Wanted and Ek Tha Tiger turned out to be super hits. Also, starring Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Jacqueline Fernandez, Kick hit over 5,000 screens in India on July 25 as well as 42 other countries.

With Kick, director Sajid Nadiadwala has also moved into record books. He has become the first director whose debut movie has grossed over Rs 200 crore.

In terms of gross earnings, says Koimoi.com, Kick has collected over Rs 376 crore worldwide. Kick is now Bollywood's fourth-highest worldwide grosser at box-office, says Koimoi.com, behind 3 Idiots (Rs 395 crore), Chennai Express (Rs 422 crore) and Dhoom 3 (Rs 542 crore). (With Agency Inputs)
