The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 38.58 crore for the corresponding period a year ago.
Kajaria Ceramics' net sales in the quarter under review rose to Rs 546.03 crore, up 9.12 per cent from Rs 500.37 crore a year ago, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
The company in a separate filing said its board of directors has approved to acquire a 51 per cent stake in Floera Ceramics Pvt Ltd, Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh) by subscribing to the equity shares of the company for an undisclosed sum.
"Floera Ceramics Plans to put up a manufacturing facility of polished vitrified tiles with a capacity of 5.70 MSM p.a. in Andhra Pradesh," it added.
Shares in Kajaria Ceramics, on Monday, ended 1.56 per cent lower at Rs 774.75 apiece on the BSE, underperforming the broader markets.
