JP Power Ventures Q3 Net Loss at Rs 90 Crore

Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd on Monday reported standalone net loss at Rs 90.21 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2014-15.

Its net loss in the October-December quarter of last fiscal was Rs 153 crore, the company said in a filing to BSE.

The total income from operations during the third quarter was at Rs 1,040.91 crore, it said.

"The results under review are in respect of 300 MW Jaypee Baspa II H E Plant, 400 MW Jaypee Vishnuprayag H E Plant, 1091 MW Jaypee Karcham Wangtoo H E Plant, 500 MW Jaypee Bina Thermal Power Plant and Unit 1 (660 MW) of 1320 MW Jaypee Nigrie Super Thermal Power Project which commenced operations from September 3, 2014," the company said.

"Hence the figures of the current quarter/period are not comparable with figures of the corresponding quarter/period in the previous year," it said.

The company's operational capacities are 1,791 mw hydro assets and 1160 mw thermal assets.

Facing a downturn in business, Jaiprakash Power Ventures had last month warned that it is likely to default on its obligation to repay $200 million worth foreign currency convertible bonds in February and had sought rescheduling of the obligation to next year.
