Job Interviews: 65% of Candidates Prefer Getting Rejected by Mail, Says Survey

A recent survey by business-oriented social networking service LinkedIn says that after a job interview about 77 per cent of candidates want to hear good news by phone, while 65 per cent of candidates want to get rejected via email.

The survey also reveals that a vast majority of professionals, both active and passive, are interested in hearing from the company after interview and pegs the figure at 46 per cent.

Passive talents are those who tend to be highly satisfied with their jobs, whereas active talent feels a healthy mix of satisfied and dissatisfied in their current role.

To prepare this report LinkedIn collected survey responses of 20,931 members from around the world, who are currently employed in some capacity. The survey included about 906 candidates from India.

Titled '2015 Talent Trends', the survey also gave projection about active and passive talents around the world.

It said that about 45 per cent of candidates in India were active, while 55 per cent where passive

Globally, it said professionals are more actively exploring job opportunities than they were last year. According to the survey, about 30 per cent of talent was active as compared to last years' 25 per cent.

Another interesting finding of the survey was that compensation matters most when making a final job decision and about 49 per cent of candidates make it their first preference.
