Reliance Jio launched its broadband service JioFiber on Thursday. Reliance Jio Infocomm's "fiber-to-the-home" broadband service JioFiber was rolled out in 1,600 cities across the country, the company said in a statement. Priced from Rs 699 to Rs 8,499, JioFiber's monthly rental plans will offer a minimum internet speed of 100 Mbps, said Reliance Jio, the telecom arm of billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries. The rollout of Reliance Jio's JioFiber services comes as the telecom company completed three years of commercial service.
Reliance Jio Infocomm mentioned three simple steps for getting a JioFiber connection:
- Individuals need to visit www.jio.com or download the MyJio app
- Register for JioFiber services
- If JioFiber is available in the area chosen by the user, Jio's service representatives will get in touch with the individual
Existing customers of the JioFiber preview service will get a set top box to avail the full bouquet of services on recharging with a monthly/quarterly/annual plan of their choice, Reliance Jio said.
"Every JioFiber user to get a set top box (even with a monthly plan)," it added.
Meanwhile, Reliance Jio is offering a Welcome Offer under which people opting for annual JioFiber plans will get a Jio home gateway, a Jio 4K set-top-box, a television set (in gold plans and above), subscription to OTT apps, and unlimited voice and data, Reliance Jio further said.
