Apologizing to its staff for the delay in salaries due in September, embattled airline Jet Airways said on Monday that it is working towards finding a solution. The airline management has also met the representatives of the pilots and will communicate a solution in the coming week, the airline was quoted as saying in a tweet by news agency Asian News International (ANI). "We would like to apologise for the delayed payment of your salaries & appreciate your patience in this matter... We would like to inform you that we've met with Pilots' Representatives & are working towards a solution which will be communicated in coming week," ANI quoted Jet Airways as saying.


Meanwhile, Jet Airways shares traded at Rs 193.50, down Rs 7.10 or 3.54 per cent, after the airline assured of a communication on delay in salaries.

Crisis-hit Jet Airways has been struggling to raise capital for its various payment obligations.

According to a report by news agency Press Trust of India, Jet Airways had earlier this month paid the balance amount of salaries for the month of August to its pilots, engineers and senior management, but had told them that September payments would be delayed.

On September 6, the airline had informed that its senior management, pilots and engineers would receive their monthly salaries in two instalments till November.   

Earlier, Jet Airways received a breather from its loyalty programme Jet Privilege Private Ltd. JPPL, a joint venture with Etihad, offered about Rs 258 crore for the advance purchase of discounted tickets.

The airline reported a net loss of Rs. 1,323 crore for the quarter that ended June. (With agencies inputs)
