Jet Airways enters codeshare agreement with Garuda Indonesia

Jet Airways has concluded a codeshare arrangement with Indonesian national carrier Garuda to provide seamless connectivity to various destinations on the combined networks of the two airlines.

Under the arrangement, Jet Airways would place its marketing code on Garuda Indonesia's flights between Singapore and Jakarta. Also, Garuda would put Jet's marketing code on operations between Singapore and Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai, a Jet spokesperson said in Delhi on Tuesday.

The two major carriers also launched a reciprocal frequent flyer programme with regular customers of either earning and redeeming miles while travelling on both carriers on their respective route network.

"With the seamless connections offered by this arrangement, we are confident that this codeshare will see a further increase in demand for business and leisure travel between India and Indonesia," Jet Airways senior vice president (commercial) Gaurang Shetty said.

"We are pleased to have the codeshare partnership with Jet Airways as it will further strengthen the global network of both airlines and provide increased benefits to all our passengers," executive vice president (marketing and sales) of Garuda Indonesia Erik Meijer said.
