RCB or Royal Challengers Bangalore is "lacking team spirit". That was billionaire Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw's reaction to the IPL match between RCB and SRH or Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday. "What a miserable showing by RCB... Bottom of the heap! Team spirit lacking," Ms Shaw, chairperson and managing director of biotechnology-pharmaceutical company Biocon, said in a Tweet. With Monday's win against RCB, SRH marked their fifth victory in a row in the IPL tournament. In Monday's IPL league cricket match, Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first and finished their innings with a score of 146 runs. RCB could only manage 141 runs for six wickets.

By virtue of Monday's win against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad have consolidated their position at the top of the table with 16 points from 10 games. RCB, on the other hand, are standing on the verge of elimination with just six points from 10 matches. Besides needing to win their remaining four games, RCB's fortune will also depend on the outcome of other matches.

Her remarks on Twitter immediately attracted several remarks by users of the microblogging website.

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw had last month commented on Royal Challengers Bangalore's performance on April 29, a day marked by Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) six-wicket win against Royal Challengers Bangalore. An apparent follower of IPL cricket, Ms Mazumdar-Shaw had tweeted: "...@RCBTweets (RCB) is jinxed with bad luck this IPL. Will they buck up or simply bow out?"

Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Virat Kohli, is next scheduled to play against Delhi Daredevils on Saturday, May 12, under the ongoing IPL 2018 league. Shreyas Iyer is the captain of IPL team Delhi Daredevils. It remains to be seen whether Ms Mazumdar-Shaw will get a chance to praise team RCB this time around.

American business magazine Forbes estimates Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw's net worth at $3.6 billion as of May 8, 2018.

Ms Mazumdar-Shaw is ranked among Forbes magazine's '100 Most Powerful Women'. She has been recognized as the only Indian on Forbes' list of 'World's Self-Made Women Billionaires'. She also features in US business magazine Fortune's 'Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Asia-Pacific'. Ms Mazumdar-Shaw holds key positions in various industry, educational, government and professional bodies. She is also chairperson of the board of governors at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-Bangalore). She serves as independent member of the board of IT major Infosys.

Ms Mazumdar-Shaw holds a bachelor's degree in science (Zoology Hons.) from Bangalore University and has earned a master's degree in malting and brewing from Ballarat College, Melbourne University.
