India's services exports fall marginally to $12.29 billion in September

Services exports in September this year were worth $12.29 billion, marginally down from the previous month, according to data from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Services exports were at $12.31 billion in the previous month.

Imports of services rose to $6.79 billion in September, from $6.30 billion in August.

The services sector contributes about 55 per cent to the country's gross domestic product.

During the six months ended September, 2013, services exports were at $75.53 billion, while total services imports stood at $40.29 billion.

The apex bank releases provisional aggregate monthly data on the country's international trade in services with a lag of 45 days.
