The Reserve Bank of India said it bought a net Rs 4.9 billion (Rs 490 crore) of government bonds in the secondary market in the week to March 30 compared with a net Rs 100 million a week ago.

The RBI bought a total Rs 6.7 billion (Rs 670 crore) of bonds in March 30 week and sold Rs 1.8 billion (Rs 180 crore) worth of debt.


In the week to March 23, the RBI bought Rs 3.5 billion (Rs 350 crore) of bonds and sold Rs 3.4 billion (Rs 340 crore) worth of debt.
