Indian Railways to Recruit 1400 Personnel

The Indian Railways has invited applications to fill 1,400 positions across departments. The Railways is looking to hire for positions such as stenographer junior, chief law assistant/law assistant, junior translator, librarian, etc., according to government website- employmentnews.gov.in.

The last date for applications is November 10, 2014, according to the official website that posts various vacancies across government functions. No further details were made available on the website.

The Railway Recruitment Board or RRB had earlier invited applications to hire more than 6,000 personnel. Eligible candidates can still participate in the massive recruitment drive for the Indian Railways, as the last date for submitting applications online for those positions is October 19, 2014

The RRB is hiring for the following positions- Senior Section Engineer, Chief Depot Material Superintendent, Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, Chemical Metallurgical Assistant. The posts are across 21 centres.

Candidates need to have a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering/Degree/Diploma in related disciplines or its equivalent course from a recognised university/institute in order to be eligible for selection.
RRB will conduct written exams on December 14 and 21, depending on the pay grade of the applicant. The written examination will have negative marking and one-third of the marks allotted for each question will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Candidates need to be between 18-35 years to be eligible to apply for the RRB vacancies.
