Bids Invited To Lease Land Parcels For Residential Development In Gorakhpur

Indian Railways' statutory body Rail Land Development Authority recently floated a request for proposal (RFP) for leasing a vacant land parcel in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The RFP for leasing the land is intended for residential development as well as for the construction of railway transit suites at the Ramgarh Tal area. Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), responsible for the development of railway land, said in a statement that some of the railway quarters are also supposed to be constructed at the Bauliya colony in Gorakhpur. The deadline for the submission of the e-bids is May 4, 2021. According to RLDA, the Ramgarh Tal site covers an area of 32,911 square metres, which includes 900 square metres area for five transit suites and is also located adjacent to the Ramgarh Tal lake site at Mohaddipur. It is a residential-cum-commercial neighborhood situated next to the railway area and Mohaddipur block. The complete land area of the Ramgarh Tal project is divided into two parts - one for residential development, and the other for the construction of railway transit suites.

The first part covers an area of 32,011 square metres and will be available for lease-based residential development on a period of 99 years of leasehold rights to the selected developer. This area is proposed for residential development. The reserve price is Rs 71.50 crore. The other part, which is smaller, covers an area of 900 square metres and is proposed for the compulsory development of the railway transit suites at Ramgarh Tal.

Along with this, the site at the Bauliya colony is proposed to be developed as the railway quarter covers an area of 13,516 square metres, said RLDA in its statement. The cost of railway development is estimated at Rs 25.47 crore.
