Infosys founder Narayana Murthy has reportedly said that the outsourcing industry that he pioneered has devolved into some firms acting "like immigration agents" to help Indians move abroad, instead of creating local jobs.
"All Indian companies guarantee visas, they guarantee green cards. The whole exercise has become as if they are immigration agents. I am sorry to say that Indian companies behave as if they are agents for their employees to cross the Atlantic," the 69-year-old said earlier this week in a speech at the prestigious Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, according to this report.
US news site Business Insider said that with those remarks, Mr Murthy appears to have said "that Donald Trump is right about Indians snatching jobs from Americans."
As a Republican aspirant for US President, Mr Trump has repeatedly expressed his opposition to H-1B visas, issued to skilled workers like Indian techies, and has said workers from countries like India take away jobs from Americans.
