Indian Hotels Posts Profit of Over Rs 34 Cr in Q1

New Delhi: Indian Hotels Company on Wednesday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 34.78 crore for the fiscal first quarter that ended on June 30, 2015.

The company had posted a net loss of Rs 34.82 crore for the corresponding period a year ago, it said in a filing to the BSE.

Consolidated net sales of Tata Group's hospitality firm - Indian Hotels Company - rose to Rs 1,032.92 crore during the quarter under consideration as against Rs 937.46 crore in the year-ago period.

Indian Hotels Company Ltd and its subsidiaries are collectively known as Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces.

Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces currently has 96 hotels in 61 locations globally, including India, Maldives, Malaysia, the UK, the US, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Africa and the Middle East.

Shares in Indian Hotels, on Wednesday, ended over 1.5 per cent higher at Rs 93.50 apiece on the BSE.
