ICICI Bank's 'Scan To Pay' Feature Offers Quick Payment Facility. Here's How To Use It

ICICI Bank offers ‘Scan to Pay’ feature which customers can use to make payments at retail stores using their smartphones, informed the lender on its official twitter handle. The feature, available on pockets app, helps one to scan a quick response (QR) code at merchant outlets and make the payment. The major benefit of using the facility is completion of transaction with enhanced security as card details remain in control of the customer, said the country's second-largest private lender on its official website -- icicibank.com. Any VISA, Mastercard or Rupay card holder can use this feature by linking their cards to the pockets app. 

Here are the steps to make the payment using ICICI Bank scan to pay in detail:

1. Customers need to login to their pockets app and choose 'scan to pay' feature on the dashboard.

2. The app will automatically enable the camera in the phone and scan the QR code displayed at the merchant outlet.

3. You can select from any of your Visa, MasterCard or Rupay cards for payment. 

4. Enter the amount and your debit card PIN to complete the transaction once the transaction is completed, the merchant receives a notification on their phone.

ICICI Bank also offers 'Touch & Pay' which enables customers to make contactless payments at stores using their smartphones. The feature, available on pockets app, lets one tap their smartphone at a NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled merchant terminal and make the payment through the linked ICICI Bank debit or credit card. However, an Android of 4.4 OS (operating system) and above NFC-enabled smartphone is required.
