Mumbai: Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd (GACL) on Tuesday said posted 22.76 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 43.99 crore for the fiscal first quarter that ended on June 30, 2015.
The company had registered a net profit of Rs 56.95 crore for the corresponding period a year ago.
The Gujarat government-promoted firm posted a sales turnover of Rs 472.56 crore for the quarter as against Rs 493.91 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement.
Profit before tax of the first quarter stood at Rs 56.51 crore as against Rs 73.54 crore a year ago.
Though the company could improve production levels, it faced market conditions affecting realisations for its products during the June quarter, the company said.
