Airlines such as IndiGo and GoAir have recently announced discounts on bookings and introduced new routes. These announcements come amid rising competition in the country's civil aviation market, boosted by robust growth in passenger traffic registered over past few months. Here are key things to know about the announcements made by GoAir and IndiGo:
GoAir is offering domestic flight tickets at a starting price of Rs 1,375, according to airline's website - goair.in. Bookings under the offer can be made till April 12, 2019 and the sale is valid for travel till June 2019, according to the carrier's portal. Under GoAir's offer, the cheapest flight ticket is available on Bagdogra-Guwahati route starting at a price of Rs. 1,375. Flight tickets on Ahmedabad-Mumbai route is priced at Rs. 2,149. Bookings for the flights are open via airline's official website, goindigo.in, with immediate effect, the airline said.
IndiGo announced three new international and 20 domestic flight connections. IndiGo will operate daily direct flights between Mumbai and Jeddah, and between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi with effect from June 5, 2019, the carrier said in a press release. From July 5, 2019, it will operate daily non-stop flights between Mumbai and Dammam (Saudi Arabia). Additionally, the private airline will operate 20 domestic flights from Mumbai connecting different cities across the country, starting from April 15, 2019.
